I’m writing today to extend my strong support and full endorsement of Kevin Mathews for the Sudbury Select Board.
I have had the privilege of working closely with Kevin during my time serving on the Sudbury School Committee while he was serving on the LS School Committee. Throughout our collaboration, I witnessed firsthand his deep commitment to the town, his thoughtful approach to complex issues, and his ability to navigate challenges with both professionalism and integrity.
Kevin brings many years of institutional knowledge, particularly in the areas of budgeting, negotiations, and long-term planning. His keen understanding of fiscal responsibility, coupled with his dedication to making well-informed decisions in the best interest of the community, makes him exceptionally qualified for this role. Kevin understands the challenges facing Sudbury and knows how to make smart, fiscally responsible decisions that benefit the entire community.
Beyond his expertise, Kevin is a man of strong moral character, integrity, and unwavering dedication to public service. He listens, he leads with fairness, and he truly cares about the well-being of Sudbury and its residents.
In closing I will say there is always one thing I admired about Kevin above all else, his ability to listen to all sides before making an informed decision. Kevin makes decisions based on careful consideration rather than personal opinions or convictions. He will first listen and engage both sides and then make decisions based on what is good for all constituents. In a day and age where "politics" often get in the way of progress, isn't this the best quality an effective leader can have?
I endorse Kevin Mathews for the Sudbury Select Board without any reservation or hesitation. The town would be well served by his leadership.
